Better late than Never

I guess Andy Harris will remember who he asks to support him next time he runs. Just want to say I am in no way gracious to him, so, To Andy Harris: Good Riddance. You got what you deserved.

Harris attempts to smear Kratovil and Prominent Anne Arundel Attorney

PolitickerMD Article

After seeing one of many of Harris' latest attacks on Frank Kratovil, I do believe Harris has met his match. As a wise old man once said "Don't write a check with your mouth that your ass can't cash," and I do believe Harris has done just that.

Many in AA County know Peter O'Neill as a prominent criminal defense attorney. If there is someone that I wouldn't even want to come close to making any kind of confrontation with, it would be Peter O'Neill.

After actions like this, I believe Harris needs to reevaluate his positions, and probably "give the boot" to Mr. Meekins. Mr. Meekins himself may also wind up in the jackpot right along with Harris.

Andy Harris, winner or not, has just succeeded in going over the thin red line.

The blind leading the blind.....

From the Maryland Gazette:

Simonaire endorsement

State Sen. Bryan Simonare, R-Pasadena, this week announced his endorsement of state Sen. Andy Harris in the 1st District congressional race.

"In the Maryland State Senate, Andy Harris has been a leading voice against excessive and wasteful spending in Annapolis. He will take that same mindset to congress as he works to restore fiscal responsibility in Washington."

Mr. Harris faces Queen Anne's County State's Attorney Frank Kratovil.~

Guess we know where Simonaire gets the gumption to outright lie to get what he wants. He was taught by his hero, Andy Harris. Now he lies about Andy, for Andy.

A reminder

I also forgot to remind everyone, I believe the almighty G.A. Harrison himself owes the Kratovil Campaign an apology after his following quote from Delmarva Dealings:

"A little over a week ago, Democrat congressional candidate Frank Kratovil told an audience of Young Democrats at Salisbury University that "We solved the crisis". "- G.A. Harrison

I see now why G.A. the D.A. is fighting this one tooth and nail. He has to eat crow himself at the end of day whether he likes it or not. G.A. needs to stop prolonging the inevitable.

Back by popular demand, just with a twist!

Just remember, YOU Decide.

Harrison tries to sell us another bill of Goods on Red Maryland

Seems that our old friend G.A. the D.A. is now trying to lightly pin the Harris ad screw-up on the Daily Times and PolitickerMD.com. He claims that a "Good Faith" effort was made to verify the the claims of the "We solved the crisis" ad.

"Now I know that some will claim hypocrisy on my part because of the recent brooha about an Andy Harris ad. They would be wrong. The Harris campaign made a good faith effort to verify that the quote was valid. The Daily Times never printed ANY correction until after the ad ran. To date the Kratovil campaign has only made available an edited version of the audio from the event in question. There's a big difference."- G.A. Harrison

If it was such a good faith effort, then why didn't the Harris Campaign ask for the Audio from another source (If Available, I'm sure it was)? And if it was so "Good Faith," then why hasn't their been any apology to The Daily Times or the Kratovil Campaign? Also, G.A. claims that the audio from the Kratovil campaign was edited. I believe that G.A. is trying to suggest that Kratovil Campaign members tampered with the tapes in order to make them contradict the "We solved the crisis" ads.

Lets just see G.A for what he is, one of the Andy Harris right-wing, hardcore, company-man, extremists.

Who's running this campaign?

A quote from the infamous G.A. Harrison

"Frank Kratovil and his acolytes want an apology. ... I don't think so!

Why? For starters, neither Andy Harris, nor his campaign has done anything wrong." - G.A. Harrison

The Harris Campaign hasn't done anything wrong?!?!?! Hasn't done anything wrong?!?!?!

Well, Lets remind G.A. the D.A. what was done wrong:

Quoting the Daily Times: "In light of a report this morning's Salisbury Daily Times confirming that Senator Andy Harris' citation of that newspaper in his most recent television ad is inaccurate."

"Harris' ad attacks Kratovil for allegedly saying that "We solved the crisis" in answering a question about the current financial crisis during a campaign stop in Salisbury last Monday. It cites a Daily Times article, dated October 7, and visually displays a Daily Times banner to justify the allegation. But the alleged quote had already been removed from the cited story on the paper's website several days before the ad started airing, and in this morning's print edition confirmed that the initial reporting was inaccurate."

"According to an audio recording at the SU event, Kratovil said: "The bigger issue is, what do we do now? And as I mentioned in my talk, you know, in this country, you often times deal with a crisis, we solve a crisis, but we don't always deal with the long term issues that led to the crisis."

"In response to the Daily Times' confirmation that Harris ad is attacking a statement that Frank Kratovil never made"

"Yesterday, Harris' campaign manager was quoted telling a reporter from PolitickerMD.com that the campaign did not consider the quote to be inaccurate because he had not seen a correction paper's print edition. Now that a printed correction has been made, Lawlor called on Harris to explain what possible justification he could offer for continuing to air an ad that has been thoroughly debunked."

Hey G.A., So when you get pulled over in fifty mile an hour zone for doing sixty five, and tell the cop it was a sixty five mile an hour zone last week and you didn't see the corrections to the signs, you're telling me that you did nothing wrong by just merely being ignorant?

But, since sometimes getting mere words through to you is difficult, I made this statement in picture form too just a few posts down. Please don't hesitate to take a look.

I had to go there.

It speaks for itself, what can I say?

A new twist on an old banner....

(Thanks to the Daily Times for the Quotes)
I hope everyone (including those Conservative Company men that back someone like this) takes a look at the quotes included here on this banner. Yesterday PolitickerMd.com quoted Harris' campaign manager as saying that "the campaign did not consider the quote to be inaccurate because he had not seen a correction paper's print edition." To me, this is like saying "Officer, I was doing 90 miles per hour because I didn't see or ignored the 50 mile per hour sign." Ignorance is no excuse, that too goes for Andy Harris.

Justification

I've taken a quote from RedMaryland by G.A. Harrison. I can already say from posts that he has made before I have a major distaste for him, but this one really gets me:

"We all know that liberalism is about feelings and conservatism is about ideas. "

What a crock of horse-crap. Ideas from bright individuals and groups from both sides come to life, while feelings and emotions do just the same. If hes trying to convince me that conservatives are more rational that liberals because their decisions are based solely on ideas, hes barking up the wrong tree. This is someone who needs to be fed some loaded questions.

David Kyle....Where art thou?

Just like the infamous Car 54, where are you???? I do feel that the blogging world is being cheated without one of our more nobler minds that is David Kyle.

Not only that, I feel that he is one of our more viable candidates for a county council seat in AA. David is not only an asset to the political climate, but also very in touch with a very large variety of issues both locally and abroad.

Not to mention, I think I'd rather go to a quaint breakfast fundraiser for David Kyle, than go to a fundraiser such as "Burgers for Braswell" or "Grizzle for Griffiths." I don't think it would take the formation of a self-fulfilling 'exploratory committee' and I don't see him using a positions such as this just for a political stepping stone.

David, If you won't make a run for county council, then will you at least come back to blogging? I think your political insight on the presidential election would be rather interesting if not just plain amusing.

Blog Net News Maryland

Over the life of The Engima, I've been sent quite a few e-mails about why I haven't attempted to list on Blog Net News Maryland.

First, I've never had any real interest in going into the "Blogosphere" that gets raved about by people trying to inflate their own egos. I don't put any belief into a computer being able to gauge "Most Influential" let alone statistics on how many times a person's blog gets looked at. I can look at a blog fifty times, and still think its a bomb.

SbyNews seems to always be number one when it comes to Highest Influence. How can this be true? Jihad Joe is just pulling statistics for being the most controversial, not for actually having influence on anyone. Then we have Brain Griffiths trying to take Jihad Joe's proverbial crown, by proclaiming himself "Maryland's Most Influential Blogger." Griffiths isn't even in the top five right now according to the almighty blog net news. Sorry Brian, your not proving to be as much of a bad-ass as Jihad Joe, but an Alford plea might help you along with that.

Jihad Joe: The Jerry Springer that Griffiths wants to be.

Ravens Loss

Yeah, the loss was a huge disappointment, especially after the drive into overtime. However, it was a great game to watch. My hats off to John Harbaugh, for not acting like a drama queen and a screaming child on the sidelines every time something he didn't like happened. He was cool, calm, and collected the entire time (Nothing near that could have been said for Billick).

What a turd....

And I thought I saw it all.....Then Griffiths comes out with this one anointing himself the Godfather of the Maryland Blogosphere.

I decided to make corrections myself. Hopefully it will catch on and be added to his header, but I doubt it.

King of the Hill

Seems that the latest report in the Gazette is not doing our friend Bryan Simonaire any favors. I'm glad to see that they weren't at all trying to hide the true "King of Special Interests and the Wealthy" as we all know he is.

More to come on this subject, since I know it horrifies some of the company men out there we all know and hardly love.

Thats a foul!

"To equate the two is intellectually dishonest and just a knee jerk reaction to support your boy [Shandrowsky] who would have sided with the [Democrats] on all these votes."- Greg Kline

Wow. Pot calls kettle black.

Greg, you are the biggest company man that the AA Republican party has to offer. If anyone in your party told you to jump you'd always ask how high, and yet you condone someone who paves his own road and walks on it.

What does one hippopotamus say to the other hippopotamus: That's a coward.

Endorsements

While I know some people are into giving long, lengthy endorsements, one each per candidate, I'd rather just simply list those I think are worthy of offices.

Presidential:

Republican: John McCain
Yes, He is the oldest candidate, but he is more than ready for the job.

Democrat: Barack Obama
Not only because of my extreme distaste for Hillary, but because he has impressed me as far as his beliefs on many issues.

and for the First District for Congress:
Republican: E.J. Pipkin
Pipkin, by far, looks out for the public. His no nonsense action against Baltimore Gas and Electric has taken my vote.

Democrat: Frank Kratovil
Simply stated, Kratovil is the best qualified in the Democratic Party.

Oh little God of nothing......

With a huge sigh on my part, it yet again seems that Greg Kline has deemed himself the god of the great GOP of Anne Arundel County.

In about ten months, when his ego looks like a hay bale that the middle wire blew out of, his newest post will probably look something like this:

"You should all bow down to my great knowledge and listen to my every word on how you should run your own agendas. You will also now find that you must answer to me on even your smallest of actions. Let us one day read that bible that I, Greg Kline will hand down to all of you peons that will be known as "The Conservative Refuge, The Book" and follow the 10 conservative commandments that I, Greg Kline will have Brian Griffiths bring down Mountain Road after many days of conservative reflection."

Why doesn't he stop going after Nic Kipke?

Hey Greg! Nic won his first election! And King won the race you were in! Get over it already and stop trying to tarnish the name of a good man who is doing ten times the job you would have done in the state house!

Nic Kipke vs. Greg Kline

Ahhh, On my weekly trek through that mountain of words Kline calls a blog, I see now he is starting into a war with someone who actually won the race for state delegate the first time, Nic Kipke. Kline calls into question Kipke's credibility and even becomes somewhat insulting in his letter. Now, being a firm supporter of Kipke, I would have to say the following: I would support and trust the words of Nic Kipke as if they were my own. The fact that Kline has yet again stooped to a lower level shows me that he is what I've called him out to be. Yeah Greg, we know you're still not happy about last year and not getting your ever-so-precious conservative refuge advertisement out there, and that you have many reservations about those running the dinner, but thats no reason to get to the point of insult, no matter how subtle.

Fact is, you can run your mouth as much as you want about Nic Kipke on here. Guess what? He won his election..... you didn't. He will work with King...... You won't. He is a stand up person who will do much good in the legislature.....you aren't.

Good Job on trying to yet again bring the rain down on a good man. Heres your "Grade D" stamp. Make sure you display it proudly you slab of jackass.

3 Guesses as to the creator of this pipe dream...

From an Eastern Shore newspaper:

" Employee compensation is a lot like taxes in that decreasing them is almost unheard of in this country. That’s why it was startling to hear an Anne Arundel County Republican has proposed a way to consider reducing his and his colleagues’ pay. Currently, legislators make in the neighborhood of $43,500 to $56,500 per year. In many cases, that’s for a 90-day legislative session, but many officials would say the scope of their work goes far beyond just the legislature’s time in Annapolis. The senator says he’s not requesting or even suggesting lawmakers’ pay be lowered. He merely wants the law that stipulates salaries can only be raised (or lowered) every four years be changed. He said it should be on the table for discussion with all the tax increases being weighed. In 2006, legislators denied a wage increase. In 2002, a 30-plus percent raise was authorized. Insiders say the bill has no chance of passing, but it’s interesting nonetheless."

A few words of wisdom from an unknown source

Martin O"Malley is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He leadeth me beside the still factories.
He restoreth my faith in the Republican Party
He guideth me in the path of unemployment
Yea, though I walk close to the Valley of the Bread Line, I shall not go hungry.
O"Malley has anointed my income with taxes,
My expenses runneth over my income,
Surely poverty and hard living will follow me over the rest of the days of my life.
The Republicans and I will live in rented houses forever.
But I am glad I am an American,
I am glad I am free,
But, I wish I was a dog,
And Martin O"Malley was a tree!!

I was very amused by this email. I hope everyone else is too.

A new year, A new smear

Things are getting pretty interesting in the Gilchrest/Harris/Pipkin race. Every time I go to watch the channel 11 news I see more and more blasts from one camp to another. The minute Pipkin gets his cannon loaded and ready, it seems like Harris is trying to blow both him and Gilchrest away with a war of words.

Seems we now can tell where Simonaire got his battle training from. I just can't wait to see him go overboard just like Harris. It seems Harris should be spending some money on telling the public what good he has done, but I guess the bloodbath is his only hope when he hasn't done anything constructive (something him and Simonaire both have in common).

Oh well, Lets let Andy Harris have his fun. Maybe his ten gallon ego will flood his one pint brain.
